What is a Healthcare Coalition?

A coalition is a diverse group of people and businesses who work together to accomplish a common goal. In our case, individuals and companies are working together on healthcare issues, and our goals include:

  • Education among our members and among the general public about the healthcare issues we face
  • Encouraging wellness and healthy lifestyles to bring healthcare costs down
  • Collective buying power
  • Sharing of information among our membership to help each other make informed and well thought-out healthcare choices

The bottom line for us is leveraging our size and strength to influence the cost and quality of healthcare services for our members, and to protect access to it. While we are going about that, we are also sharing information to benefit our members, adding services that increase health and wellness benefits, and provide for networking opportunities so we can continue to educate ourselves about the options available to us.
