"Participation in Leapfrog was a strategic decision made by the ECHO Board of Directors. The Leapfrog project is a great first effort supported by the employer community in focusing on healthcare quality specific to Alabama. Is it the goal of the coalition to use this quality platform to support positive healthcare performance. "

Leapfrog’s Senior Science Director Dr. Barbara Rudolph Warns About the Dangers of Inducing Labor Prior to 39 Weeks

Posted: August 17, 2010

Leapfrog’s Senior Science Director Dr. Barbara Rudolph was recently interviewed by a WISC-TV Madison news reporter about the dangers of inducing labor prior to 39 weeks.

Leapfrog added an NQF-endorsed early newborn delivery measure in 2009. Our measure requires hospitals to report on their rates of early scheduled deliveries (either c-sections or inductions) between the 37th and 39th completed week. We’ll be releasing the results of hospitals who reported on this measure on the 2010 Leapfrog Hospital Survey this fall. Stay tuned.

In the meantime, see Barb’s interview:
